Calf Press
  1. 1 - Begin by adjusting the leg press machine to your desired settings. Sit on the machine with your back against the backrest and your feet flat on the calf press platform. Your knees should be slightly bent.
  2. 2 - Place your feet hip-width apart on the calf press platform with your toes pointing forward. Your heels should be hanging off the edge of the platform, allowing for a full range of motion.
  3. 3 - Push through your toes and the balls of your feet to lift the weight stack or the platform. Extend your ankles fully, contracting your calf muscles at the top of the movement.
  4. 4 - Slowly lower the weight or platform back down, allowing your heels to drop below the level of the platform if possible. This stretches your calf muscles.
  5. 5 - Perform the calf press for the desired number of repetitions, focusing on the contraction and stretch of your calf muscles.
