Stone-Over-Bar
- 1 - Set up a horizontal bar or obstacle at a specified height. The height can vary depending on the competition or training goals.
- 2 - Choose a spherical stone, often called an “Atlas Stone,” with a weight appropriate for your strength level and the event’s requirements.
- 3 - Stand in front of the stone with your feet shoulder-width apart and your toes pointing slightly outward.
- 4 - Bend at your hips and knees to get a secure grip on the stone. The stone should be positioned between your legs.
- 5 - Lift the stone off the ground using proper lifting technique, such as using your legs and maintaining a straight back.
- 6 - Explosively lift the stone upward and forward, extending your hips, knees, and ankles to generate power.
- 7 - Aim to lift the stone over the horizontal bar or obstacle, letting it clear the bar entirely.
- 8 - After the stone has cleared the bar, release it and allow it to fall safely on the other side.
